Studia Generalia on Emerging Trends in the Baltic Sea Region starts October 31

​The Pan-European Institute continues its series of lectures “Emerging trends in the Baltic Sea region”. The lectures address the future of the Baltic Sea region from different perspectives.

The Studia Generalia was originally started because Pan-European Institute wanted to better bring forward the trends of the Baltic Sea region. Both domestic and international experts give lectures in the series from October 31 to November 28.

Best experts of their field will give lectures in the series. Also UK’s Ambassador to Finland Matthew Lodge, China’s Ambassador to Finland Huang Xing and Finland’s Ambassador to Norway Maimo Henriksson give lectures during the course of the Studia Generalia series.

The themes of the upcoming lectures include, among others, the relationship of United Kingdom and the Nordic and Baltic States, doing business in St.Petersburg, innovations in Poland and the St.Petersburg economy.

The first Studia Generalia lecture of this autumn will take place on 31st October with Postdoctoral Research Fellow of Academy of Finland Anna Korppoo and Postdoctoral Researcher Nina Tynkkynen’s lecture “Environmental encounters? Governing climate and Baltic Sea protection in Russia”.

All lectures (in English) are open to the public free of charge. The lectures take place at Lecture Hall 16 at the premises of Turku School of Economics (Rehtorinpellonkatu 3, 20500 Turku). Welcome!
