The first Baltic Rim Economies (BRE) of the year has been published!

The latest BRE is a special issue on the protection of the Baltic Sea. Visiting authors in the issue include

  • Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Krista Mikkonen, writes about the goals, actions and projects of Finland and the EU considering Baltic Sea protection, and stresses the importance of international cooperation,
  • Mayor of Turku, Minna Arve, discusses the City of Turku's carbon neutrality goal and the actions needed to achieve it, and the importance of cross-border cooperation between cities and countries,
  • Spatial Planning Expert at Visions and Strategies Around the Baltic Sea (VASAB), Liene Gaujeniete, emphasises that Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) has a significant impact on the protection of the Baltic Sea, the increasing competition in marine areas, and achieving European climate targets,
  • Deputy Director of Centrum Balticum Foundation, Kirsi Ahlman, writes about the Protection Fund for the Archipelago Sea founded by Centrum Balticum, and the concrete actions enabled by the fund in order to protect the Archipelago Sea.
