The University of Turku has been ranked among the world’s 351–375 best universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, published on 30 September 2026.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assesses universities across five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook. A total of 2,297 universities from 118 countries were included in this year’s ranking. The number of universities included in the ranking continues to grow each year, making the competition increasingly intense.
The University of Oxford remains at the top of the ranking, while the top ten positions are held by universities from the United States and the United Kingdom. For the first time, three Asian universities are among the top 15. This year, Asia has also overtaken continental Europe for the first time in the ranking’s history.
