Biography

I am a Senior Researcher at the INVEST flagship, where I conduct and develop experimental and longitudinal survey research as a part of the INVESTHub team. I hold a title of docent in Economic Sociology and have served in teaching positions in both Economic Sociology and Sociology for several years. From 2020 to 2023, I was the principal investigator in the KRIME research project, exploring the social impact of the pandemic in various ways. Currently, I am involved in multiple research projects and groups, including the Emerging Technologies Lab at the University of Tampere. Additionally, I am the co-editor-in-chief of the Finnish Journal of Social Research.

Research

My research draws on perspectives and theories from sociology, political science, and social psychology, focusing on two main themes that sometimes overlap. Firstly, I examine the reciprocal relationship between citizens and institutions. Secondly, I explore how people participate and interact in digital environments. Through these themes, I have also delved into understanding social inequality, well-being, consumption patterns, lifestyles, and deviant behavior.
