Biography

Virpi Sulosaari joined the academic community after working as a registered nurse for ten years mainly in hematology and cancer departments. She is a registered nurse and a cancer nurse (hematology). Her master and doctoral degree is from nursing science (the University of Turku, Finland). Currently, she is a principal lecturer and degree program leader of the Professional Master School of Health and Well-being in Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland. She is also post-doctoral researcher in University of Turku, Finland.  She has been leader and active member of national and international networks.  She is a member of European Oncology Nursing Society Executive Board and the cheer of the Communication working group.

Research


Post doc-research program is on cancer nurses’ oncology nursing competence and education.

Currently she is principal investigator in a research project focusing on interprofessional collaboration and work related empowerment in one Finnish cancer centre.
