Information for Accepted Students

Congratulations on your admittance to the University of Turku!

There are several matters an international student (both Exchange and Degree student) needs to consider and take care of before arriving to University of Turku. We have collected some information to help you with practicalities. You can also find out about the excellent services that the University of Turku provides, in order to start your studies smoothly.

 

 

​Admission and Student Affairs & International Office are moving!

You will find us in the brand new Student Centre from Monday 21 August onwards.

The Centre is located in the tube between the Main Building and Natura.

The new Office hours are Mon-Fri 10-14

 Checklist for the Admitted Degree Students

 

​Before travelling to Turku
- Accept the study place (and the possible scholarship)
- Pay the tuition fee, if required
- Apply for residence permit, if needed
- Apply for housing
- Register with the university by paying the
Student Union fee
- Book your travel tickets
- Get a health insurance
- Contact your tutor
- Arrive in time for the Orientation

When in Turku
- Attend the Orientation and other info sessions
- Present your original degree certificates at the university
- Sign your grant agreement, if required
- Activate your IT user account online
- Order the student card
- Sign your lease at the housing office
- Open a bank account, if needed
- Register at maistraatti and get a Finnish identity code
- Register to courses
- Pay the CampusSport fee, if you want to use their services
- Get a bus card for local busses, if needed
- Get acquinted with the Campus and the city of Turku!
