ViLLE Learning Platform Receives UNESCO's ICT in Education Prize

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has awarded the ViLLE learning platform developed by the Centre for Learning Analytics at the University of Turku with the 2020 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize. The Prize is given annually to two nominees whose projects promote learning and teaching with information and communication technology.

Health through Research: Top-level Atrial Fibrillation Research Conducted in Turku

Atrial fibrillation is one of the greatest challenges in cardiology. The atrial fibrillation research is evidence of cardiological expertise in Turku and the involved parties are the University of Turku, the Turku University Hospital Heart Centre, Turku PET Centre, and the hospitals of the Hospital District of Southwest Finland. A smart phone app for observing atrial fibrillation has been engineered in Turku, and there is more to come. This technology is top-quality on a global scale.

Use of ViLLE Learning Platform Developed at the University of Turku Increased Manifold Due to Corona Circumstances

Developed at the Centre for Learning Analytics of the University of Turku, the interactive learning platform ViLLE has reached record number of instances of use. Within a couple of weeks, almost 800 teachers have been trained to use of the platform. The platform enables the teachers to assess how well the students have adopted the things that have been taught even during remote teaching.

University Takes Technology and AI Research to SHIFT Business Festival

The theme of SHIFT 2019 is Shapeshifting intelligence, which looks beyond the hype for a more holistic view of intelligent business.
