In the first joint application round of 2024, the international Master’s degree programmes of the University of Turku received a total of 10 239 applications. The number of applications grew by 72 percent compared to the number of applications in 2023.

Cyber security is an increasingly important field for future society and information-intensive industries. Reza Abasi recognised the need for cyber security experts and decided to apply to study the subject in the University of Turku.
The University of Turku has 26 different Master’s Degree Programmes taught in English. They cover a broad range of different subjects from health and biomedical sciences to social sciences. Students in the international Programmes of the University come from around the world and they have various different backgrounds.
The most popular programmes were Global Innovation Management, Biomedical Sciences, Digital Health and Life Sciences, as well as Information Security and Cryptography that received 725 applications in total. All in all, the international Master’s degree programmes received 1,376 applications from 94 countries, as the number of applications in the previous year was 1,116.
