The goal is to take advantage of the original journal's reputation, convincing researchers to submit their articles and pay article processing charges (APC) to the fraudulent publisher.

The Library imports publications by the University of Turku researchers into the Current Research Information System (UTUCRIS) throughout the year from several international and national databases. Approximately 50% of all university publication information can be gathered through database searches.
