Winter School of Multilingualism, European Languages and Societies – submit your application by 25 January, 2023!

The University of Turku will organize an international Winter School of Multilingualism, European Languages and Societies, on 13–17 March, 2023. The Winter School will discuss topics related to multilingualism and European language communities. The working languages of the Winter School are English, French, and German. The organizers welcome applications from undergraduate and PhD students at the EC2U partner universities.

In 2023, the University of Turku will open the international, multilingual, master's program European Languages, Cultures and Societies in Contact (120 ECTS) based on the cooperation of European universities. Application period 4-18 January 2023. An information session about the program will be organised on zoom on 14.12. at 14:00-15:00 (Finnish time, which means 13:00-14:00 CET).

Come Follow the Fun Science-Themed Contest Science Battle

How do scientists tackle a surprising problem they face? You can witness this in the Science Battle competition, where researchers from the Universities of Coimbra, Iasi, Jena and Salamanca compete against each other. Four teams try to solve questions submitted by the public. The competition can be followed online. Come and cheer your favorite to victory on September 30.

EC2U Local Coordinators Developed More Fluent Practices in a Meeting in Turku

How can best practices be shared and implemented in all of the EC2U Alliance universities? This question was discussed in the meeting of the EC2U local coordinators in Turku, Finland, in June–July. The local coordinators have a central role in the EC2U collaboration, and the development work conducted by them benefits both students, teachers, staff and administrative staff.

The University of Turku offers exchange study positions and grants for 25 students who have fled Ukraine due to the invasion. The positions are open for applications for students and doctoral researchers from the EC2U’s new partner, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (IFNUL).

European Universities Established New Joint Master’s Degree Programmes – Now Open for Applications!

The University of Turku is offering two new international Master’s degree programmes as a part of the European EC2U Alliance. The students selected for the programmes have a freedom to customise a personalised study path for themselves which is focused on either language, culture, and society, or sustainable cities and communities. The students also have a chance to obtain a degree from several Alliance universities at once.

Mobile Application Developed in Turku Helps Students in Integrating to EC2U University Cities

A mobile application helping students in adjusting to their new educational institutions will be introduced in all of the member universities of the European Campus of City-Universities, or EC2U Alliance. The My Mobile Tutor application was first created to facilitate the adjustment process of new students at the University of Turku in 2018. The mobile application was launched at the EC2U Forum in Pavia, Italy on 6 April.
