Creating New Digital Solutions to Help Online Teaching based on Visual Material
The University of Turku, the University of Münster and the University Medical Center Utrecht are developing new solutions for online teaching based on visual material. During the EU-sponsored project, which will run until 2023, new digital tools coupled with innovative pedagogical scenarios will be tested in the teaching of pathology. At the University of Turku, there are researchers from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Medicine involved in the project.

Honorary Doctors of Education will give lectures on May 23rd and 30th
Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the International Baccalaureate Organization, and Martin Thrupp, Professor at New Zealand's Univeristy of Waikato, will give their honorary doctoral lectures at the end of My. The title of Heinonen's lecture is "What have I learned in 30 years about educational reforms?" and the title of Thrupp's presentation is "Education academics in small countries: Comparing notes between New Zealand and Finland". Both lectures can be followed remotely and you can also attend Thrupp's lecture at the University of Turku.

UNESCO challenges us to rethink education in a changing society
In a recent report, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO has challenged everyone to think about how education can help us meet the great challenges of the future. Centre for Research on Lifelong Learning and Education CELE will hold on Thursday 2th December from 2 to 4 p.m., an open zoom discussion to open the content of the report, after which the experts will discuss the topic with the public.

The University of Turku Global Educational Services Promoted at Expo 2020 Dubai
Expo 2020 Dubai, once postponed due to the COVID-19, will take place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. Expo 2020 is expected to attract 25 million visits, with 70 percent of visitors projected to come from outside the UAE – the largest proportion of international visitors in the 168-year history of World Expos.
