Open Vacancies in the Fields of Drug Development, Diagnostics and Imaging

The University of Turku is a world-class multidisciplinary research university which offers interesting challenges and a unique vantage point to national and international research and education.

The Faculty of Medicine in the University of Turku offers academic education based on a multidisciplinary research in five different programmes leading to higher university level degree in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing Science and Biomedicine. Master's Degree Programme in Biomedical Sciences includes specialization tracks in Drug Discovery and Development, and in Biomedical Imaging, which are taught in English.

The Faculty educates diversified and critical-minded experts and is internationally known and recognised for its research and education. High-standard, multi- and interdisciplinary research form the basis of the Faculty´s activities, and education and societal impact of the Faculty are built on this basis.

The Faculty of Medicine is located in the very centre of Health Campus Turku, which is a significant multidisciplinary education cluster within medicine and health care and offers unique opportunities for research, innovation and corporate collaboration. University of Turku offers an up-to-date research infrastructure, and under the open-access Turku BioImaging infrastructure, the scientists have access to modern, up-to-date instrumentation, software, training and assistance from molecular to small animal imaging. Turku BioImaging is a leading partner in ESFRI Euro-BioImaging distributed infrastructure. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Faculty is also Turku Center for Disease Modeling (TCDM), which applies and provides state-of-art research facilities and expertise in studies in experimental animals for both basic and translational studies.

There are now five open positions for Assistant Professors in the Faculty of Medicine. The research work is expected to reinforce the Faculty's Profile Areas in Research: Drug development, Diagnostics and Imaging and is funded from the Finnish Academy Profi-2 funding.
