Social Policy and Social Work

Social Policy

Social policy is a study of human wellbeing and the social relations and systems by which wellbeing can be promoted. Social policy research is interested in social risks, wellfare systems and social security.  Teaching at the University of Turku touches  on subjects such as life course transitions, social risks, labour markets and family policy.
 
Social Work
Social work as a study diverged from social policy in the year 2000. Social work research and teaching revolves around the history of social work, common social issues that face the clientele as well as theoretical background for the practise.
