Biography

Matti does research on various aspects of social media.

He is currently on working on his three-year research project titled 'Digital Engagement: Uncovering the Customer Value of Social Media'. The project is funded by Academy of Finland and aims at offering a better understanding of how people create value for themselves and for other people using social media.

Doctoral dissertation 'Continuous use and purchasing behaviour in social virtual worlds' received the Highly Commended Award 2012 based on its scientific merits in the marketing research category of the Doctoral Dissertation Awards organized by Emerald Publishing and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
