Social Work

Research at Social Work focuses on issues related to the wellbeing of children, youth, and families, intimate partner violence, immigration and multiculturalism, marginalisation, inequality, and urban studies.

These focus areas of research provide a profile for the basic, postgraduate, and specialisation education at Social Work. Furthermore, all operations of the unit place emphasis on the multiprofessional and multidisciplinary co-operation network, which is essentially embodied in the Multiprofessional teaching clinic as part of the professionally-oriented education. The unit of Social Work takes also actively part in the research and education activities of the Centre for Education and Research on Social and Health Services.

The unit of Social Work is involved in international research co-operation and publication activities, of which more information is available on the Research webpage of Social Work. The language of teaching at Social Work is Finnish
