The Chairman of the Board at St1 Mika Anttonen and Philosopher, Professor of Practice at the Turku School of Economics Maija-Riitta Ollila discuss current and future possibilities to enhance sustainable development. How can we improve our cooperation with the developing countries?

'Tackling the wicked problems’ – Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, University of Turku Jaakko Järvi addresses in his comment speech how sustainable development connects with the research and education in technology.

The webinar is implemented in cooperation with the Turku School of Economics and the Faculty of Technology; University of Turku.

Mika Anttonen M.Sc.(Tech.) is the founder and principal shareholder of the energy company St1. He began his career as a private entrepreneur in the fuel trade in 1996 and rapidly built up a diverse Nordic energy company which today pursues its vision to become a leading producer and seller of CO2-aware energy. The company is investing heavily in renewable energy research and production, ranging from advanced biofuels to geothermal heat. Mika is currently Chairman of the Board at St1.

Jaakko Järvi is a dean of the new Faculty of Technology at the University of Turku which is one of the biggest faculties at the university. Järvi is a professor of Software Engineering and he specializes in programming languages and user interface programming. Järvi has a long experience in international universities and he has formerly held academic positions at Indiana University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Bergen, Norway. He joined the University of Turku at the beginning of 2020.
