Research Council of Finland Application Workshop

Planning to apply for external research funding? Join our practical workshop designed for researchers preparing funding applications. Gain expert guidance, receive peer feedback in small groups, and refine your proposal in a confidential and supportive environment. Open to all researchers applying for external funding.

Workshop Description

This workshop is aimed particularly at researchers planning to submit a Research Council of Finland Researcher or Project funding application, but is open for all researchers planning to apply for external funding. The Workshop begins with talks on what makes a good funding application, followed by small-group work, and ending with informal discussion.

In the small‑group sessions, participants will review and comment on each other’s applications, which everyone will have shared and read in advance. While the primary focus is on funding calls by the Research Council of Finland, participants are welcome to submit any type of application for feedback. The application may be a draft or a previously submitted version that the applicant intends to revise and strengthen. Participants should come to the workshop prepared to discuss all the proposals of their group.

All small‑group work takes place under a strict confidentiality agreement. Applications are to be shared only within the group, and no content or discussion is to be disclosed outside the session.
