Biography

Akhgar Kaboli is a researcher in futures studies at the Finland Futures Research Centre, University of Turku. Her research focuses on images of the future, uncertainty, and how people imagine, experience, and navigate futures in everyday life.

Teaching

Akhgar has teaching experience in futures studies at the University of Turku, including the FUTULAB courses. Her teaching has focused on images of the future, Causal Layered Analysis (CLA), and qualitative research methods. She has contributed as a guest lecturer in FUTULAB1 and served as a responsible teacher in FUTULAB4. She has also supervised master's theses and participated in thesis evaluation.

Research

Akhgar's research explores how people imagine, experience, and navigate futures in everyday life. Her research interests include uncertainty, belonging, agency, and social change, and how people's relationships with the future are shaped by personal experiences and wider social conditions. Her work draws primarily on qualitative research methods and futures studies approaches.
