
Biography
I am an electrical engineer who graduated from CUJAE with a master's in Science and Innovation Management. I have several postgraduate degrees in management, project/quality/information management, renewable energy management, sustainable energy planning using the MESSAGE WASP-IV, LINDA, and FLEXTOOL models, and economic evaluation of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects.
I worked as a Researcher at the FFRC-UTU, Finland. Before, I held the same position at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CUJAE. From 2013-2019, I served as Vice Director of the Information and Renewable Energy Division of CUBAENERGÍA. In this centre, I was also the principal specialist of the Energy Information and Planning Group (2008-2013), a specialist in information analysis and processing (2008-2006), and a commercial specialist (2002-2006).
I have participated in and led several national and international cooperation projects related to information management, innovation management, technological and strategic surveillance, energy planning, renewable energy sources, and energy efficiency. The international cooperation work has been with international agencies and organizations such as the IAEA, UNDP, UNIDO, SDC, AECID, and the EU (ERASMUS + Program), scientific centres such as CIEMAT, FFRC - UTU, and other universities.
I have written more than 50 articles that have been cited more than 60 times. I wrote several sections (6) and compiled the Book “Strategic Surveillance of Renewable Energy Sources” (volumes I and II). I was part of the editorial team of the books of the IRIS Project (Finland), “CUBAN ENERGY SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT – Technological Challenges and Possibilities” and “CUBAN ENERGY FUTURES. The Transition towards a Renewable Energy System – Political, Economic, Social and Environmental Factors”, and its two versions in Spanish. In these books, I wrote too several articles.
My areas of research and interest are energy planning and policy, business intelligence, project management, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and sustainable development.
