Research

My research topic is Re-Vision of Her-stories in Post-War Fiction: A Study of Selected Works by Sarah Waters. I explore how Sarah Waters re-visions “her-stories” in her post-war novels, The Night Watch (2006) and The Paying Guests (2014). In other words, Waters reviews and rewrites women’s stories ("her-stories") in these two novels concerning body politics, morality, and lesbian identity within a heteronormative society through the lens of postmodern feminism, which critiques and deconstructs traditional gender norms, informs Waters’ approach to portraying women’s experiences, especially those of marginalized queer characters during and after the World Wars.
