Biography

Elina works as a University Lecturer in International Business where she teaches both bachelor and master's level courses. She defended her dissertation in 2013 at Turku School of Economics. Prior to her current position, she worked as a researcher at the Pan European Institute of Turku School of Economics. Elina is a member of the University Board at the University of Turku, a deputy board member at the Union of Research Professional (Tieteentekijät), and a board member of the University of Turku Researchers, Teachers and Lecturers (TURTLE).

Teaching

Elina teaches courses Basics of International Business; Multinational Corporations and Foreign Direct Investment; and Intercultural Marketing Management. In addition, she is an instructor on a course Futures Studies and Corporate Foresight, and a supervisor for Master's and Doctoral Theses in the subject of International Business.

Research

Elina's research has focused on changes in business networks, mechanisms of FDI spillovers, and the consequences of cross-border acquisitions, especially in the context of Russia. In addition, her research interests include the interplay between multinational enterprises and host country institutional environment, and the role of public support on companies' international growth. She has also studied learning from business simulations.
