Research
My research focuses on investigating the role of thioredoxins in the regulation of extracellular electron transfer (exoelectrogenesis) in cyanobacteria. In particular, I aim to identify thioredoxin-regulated components involved in exoelectrogenesis and investigate how thiol redox regulation controls the partitioning of photosynthetically derived electrons between intracellular and extracellular pathways. Understanding this regulatory network could reveal how cyanobacteria control extracellular electron flow and enable more efficient utilisation of photosynthetic electron flow in bioelectrochemical applications.
