Biography

Ennaliina is a doctoral researcher on contemporary Finnish literature. Her work is focused on aetonormativity (age normativity) and the ideological construction of childhood in Finnish youth literature texts and the publishing industry. She is interested in how authors writing for teenagers conceptualize their work in relation to pedagogical and political aims, and how these conceptions both enforce and disrupt adult supremacy.

Her research interests include issues of authorship in contemporary Finnish youth literature, the ideological landscape of Finnish youth literature publishing, as well as the potential of empirical methods in literary authorship studies. Alongside research, she has worked as a children's librarian, as well as a creative writing teacher in a project organized in collaboration with Girls’ Houses across Finland and funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
