Biography

Farshad is a doctoral researcher at the University of Turku, boasting a robust foundation in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2016. Subsequent to this, he pursued his Master of Science in Engineering from Tallinn University in Estonia and is currently working towards a Doctorate of Science in Technology. As a doctoral candidate, Farshad is deeply committed to advancing the realm of machine learning and employing his skills to address tangible problems. Presently, he is contributing to a maritime project named AI-ARC, funded by the European Commission. Through this endeavor, he harnesses his expertise in computer science and electrical engineering to craft innovative solutions for intricate challenges within the maritime sector. Outside of his academic pursuits, Farshad enjoys long walks and tuning into technology-themed podcasts. His research is centered on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, User Interface Design, Data Analysis, Computer Vision, and Cloud Computing.

Research

Currenctly, I am working on a project name "AI-ARC" founded by European Commission. The main objective of the AI-ARC proposal is to create an innovative, robust, efficient, and user-friendly artificial intelligence (AI) based- platform for coast and border guards, which allows traditional and VR-based interfaces to adapt to users’ preferences in terms of information management, anomaly detection, risk analyses and interoperability; in order to realize a comprehensive surveillance system that delivers powerful sensor fusion based situational awareness for decision making, and safety for all maritime actors.
