Biography

I, Javad Rajabalizadeh, was born in Iran and am currently a Persian researcher residing in Finland. I completed my B.Sc in Accounting (2009-2013) and an M.Sc in Auditing (2014-2016), both in Iran. My master's thesis explored the complex aspects of auditors' professional skepticism, judgments, and the satisfaction derived from audit salaries, achieving a perfect score of 20/20.

As a doctoral researcher at the Turku School of Economics (TSE), Department of Accounting and Finance, I am diligently working on my multidisciplinary dissertation, which spans the fields of computer science, accounting, and psychology. Concurrently, I am serving as a UTUGS Researcher at the Turku School of Economics until December 2025.

I have received numerous accolades, such as the Best Dissertation Award in 2016 at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, ranking among the top 0.2% of students in the Iranian Master Degree Entrance Exam in 2013, and placing among the top 3% of students in the Iranian University Entrance Exam in 2009. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have gained experience as a research assistant, workshop instructor, and co-auditor. I am an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the European Accounting Association (EAA), the Iranian Accounting Association (IAA), the Iranian Financial Engineering Association (IFEA), and Iran's National Elites Foundation (INEF).

I am fluent in Persian, Turkish, and English. Outside of my professional and academic endeavors, I enjoy various outdoor activities, including futsal, swimming, bicycling, jogging, and walking, which help me maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Research

Under the mentorship of esteemed academicians Professor Hannu Schadewitz and Dr. Antti Miihkinen, my research primarily centers around corporate narrative disclosures, with a strong emphasis on textual analysis. My work examines the intricate relationships between CEOs' characteristics, financial reporting quality, and how these elements influence corporate communication.

With over eight years of market research experience in the accounting, auditing, and finance sector, I have developed a robust foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. I am particularly skilled in textual data analysis, proficiently using tools such as MS Excel and having extensive knowledge of statistical software like SPSS, Eviews, and Stata. Additionally, I am enhancing my technical skills by learning programming languages such as R and Python, further enriching my analytical capabilities.

My research findings have been published in several international journals, including the Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Asian Review of Accounting, Management Decision, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, and Spanish Accounting Review.

I actively participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in the accounting and finance fields. This ongoing engagement not only keeps me informed but also helps me to network with fellow professionals and academics, fostering valuable collaborations and the exchange of innovative ideas.
