Biography

I'm a PhD student in cultural history. In my PhD research I focus on the public trans activism in Finland during the years 1960-2000. I study the narratives of trans and gender diverse people in the public press, and I'm also interested in the language used to describe gender and gender variance in the media. In my study I'm also interviewing Finnish trans and gender diverse activists about their views of gender/sex.

I have researched the history of Dreamwear Club ry, a cross-dresser/transfeminine organization, in my MA thesis.
