Biography

I am a Finnish bioethicist and moral philosopher working at the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies and Department of Philosophy, Contemporary History and Political Science. Previously I have held research positions at the University of Oslo and Aarhus University.

I have authored around 50 international publications and my work has appeared it Ethics, Ratio, Trends in Genetics, Journal of Business EthicsThe American Journal of Bioethics, among others.

I am an editorial board member of the Journal of Medical EthicsBioethics, and BMC Medical Ethics. I am also the Section Editor for Biomedical Ethics for the third edition of the Encyclopedia of Applied Ethics and a regional editor for JME Practical Bioethics.

Teaching

I have taught applied ethics, bioethics and introductuion to philosophy and ethics at the University of Oslo, Aarhus University and University of Turku.

Research

I work on my research project FETISH – Fairness and Equality in Technological Impact on Sexual Health (suom. Filosofia, Etiikka ja Teknologia Intiimisuhteissa Seksuaaliterveydessä ja Hyvinvoinnissa).
