Biography

Joshua Nabuti is a Ugandan professional Academic and Talent manager, currently pursuing a Doctor of Science (DSc) at the University of Turku (UTU), focused on technology design for green digital transitions. His background is in communications engineering and bioelectronics. He is the Co-founder of Uttermost Technology Ltd in Uganda, a corporation dedicated to technology, education, and talent development, promoting research and innovation among early learners and professionals.

Teaching

I have 8 years teaching experience as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computing and Technology at Uganda Christian University, and Department of Electrical and Electronics at Kyambogo University, Uganda. I have taught and supported students in areas including Optics and Photonics, Analog and Digital Electronics, Solid-State Electronics, Electromagnetics, and related technology subjects. My responsibilities include conducting tutorials and practical demonstrations, preparing learning materials, setting and marking coursework and examinations, invigilating examinations, supervising student internships, placements and academic projects, and providing academic guidance and support to students. I also collaborate with senior lecturers and the Head of Department in delivering the curriculum and supporting students’ academic development.

Research

Biosensor devices; Engineering design; and technology innovations

My tasks emphasize the development of an AI-enabled, distributed architecture for energy optimization in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). By integrating Home Assistant-based local control, edge computing, MQTT communication, cloud data infrastructure, advanced sensors, and machine learning, I aim to establish a reliable framework for acquiring, validating, and modelling real-time environmental and plant-response data.
