Biography

I am interested in language variation, how non-linguists view language, and the relationship between language, identity, and society. My primary area of interest is queer linguistics, which examines language from a critical point of view and aims to challenge cis- and heteronormativity.

Teaching

I am corrently taking a break from teaching to fully focus on finishing my PhD studies.

For the academic year of 2019 - 2020, I taught Finnish language and culture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

During spring semester of 2019, I taught written communication at the Centre for Language and Communication studies, University of Turku.

Research

My doctoral dissertation focuses on accessing information on queer Finnish speech through language regard studies.
