Biography
Mika Kortelainen is a professor of health economics at the University of Turku. He is also a chief researcher at the VATT Institute for Economic Research and a docent of economics at the University of Helsinki. Previously, he was a lecturer at the University of Manchester and a research fellow at the Aston Business School in Birmingham. He gained his PhD from the University of Joensuu in 2008.

Research
Mika Kortelainen's research fields include health economics, economics of education and applied microeconometrics. His ongoing research projects include studying the effectiveness of health care information technologies, the impacts of the healthcare and pharmaceutical market reforms and interventions.
