Biography

Mohamed is a Postgraduate Researcher in Entrepreneurship at Turku School of Economics, University of Turku. He is also a Lead Researcher at the University of Pretoria's Unit for Social Entrepreneurship. His Entrepreneurship research focuses, primarily, on social economy and development (e.g Social enterprise, the bottom of the pyramid, sustainable development). Mohamed is a co-founder and current coordinator of ANSES: African Network of Social Entrepreneurship Scholars. He is on the editorial team for Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies Collection for cases on social entrepreneurship in Africa (2019-2022).

Prior to joining the School of Economics, Mohamed had an extensive career in Engineering consultancy (Telecom). Mohamed holds a BSc and MSc (research) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
