TIAS co-hosts Nordic IAS workshops

TIAS is delighted to have been awarded NOS-HS funding to host a series of workshops in conjunction with the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study and Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies, to take place in 2021 and 2022.

”Beyond Advanced Studies” is a series of three exploratory workshops on issues relating to the consolidation and development of Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) research in the Nordic region.

The workshops will address the following themes:

  • Interdisciplinary theory and research careers (Uppsala, Sweden, 8–10 November 2021)
  • Interdisciplinary methods: building collaboration, networks and trust (Aarhus, Denmark, 8–9 March 2022)
  • Interdisciplinary practice: towards a Nordic approach (Turku, Finland, 5–6 May 2022).

The workshop held in Turku in May 2022 aims at bringing together researchers, foundations and policy-makers to discuss interdisciplinary research, and Institutes for Advanced Studies as a game-changing platform for addressing complex issues affecting society.

The workshop will be held at Joki Innovation Centre. A civic reception, hosted by the Deputy Mayor, will also be offered by the City of Turku on 5 May 2022.
A few places for the Turku workshop and civic reception remain available. If you are interested in joining us, please email TIAS Coordinator Jenni Kankaanpää (jenkoi@utu.fi) and we will confirm availability.

Please see details on the website of the workshop series.
