Providing Original Educational Documents

Have you been admitted to University of Turku? Congratulations! Here you find instructions on how to submit your previous educational documents for verification.

All documents, including ones sent directly to the university by your previous institution must reach the University of Turku by the deadline. Giving incorrect/false information or failing to provide the university with the required documentation will directly lead to the cancellation of the admission.

How to proceed?

1) Have you applied with a degree from a Finnish university or Finnish university of applied sciences? If yes, you do not have to submit the documents for verification as they have been verified electronically during the application process. We will contact you in case we need further information of your degree.

2) Check the country specific requirements (see below) and provide the documents accordingly. Electronic transcripts submitted through a few recognized sources are considered originals.

3) If none of the above applies to you, you need to submit the documents according to the general requirements:

  • The original degree certificate (in the original language) AND an English, Finnish or Swedish translation (or an English-language Diploma Supplement concerning graduates from European universities) of the degree certificate.
  • The original transcript of study records (in the original language) AND an English, Finnish or Swedish translation (or an English-language Diploma Supplement concerning graduates from European universities) of the transcript of records.
  • Also certified copies of the originals, given by the awarding institution or Finnish Register Office (Maistraatti) are accepted.

All translations must be made either by an authorized translator or by the degree awarding institution. Each page of an official translation must bear the translator’s stamp and/or signature. Official translations must be exact translations of the original documents. Translations done by the applicant him- or herself are not accepted.

Deadline for submitting the required documents is 13 September 2019.

Postal address: Admission Services is part of the Student Centre Disco - please see the contact details for submitting the documents.

For any questions about verification please contact Admission Services admissions(at)utu.fi.
