Verkota project

The project aims to develop know-how and technical preparedness in higher education institutes as well as in industrial companies by development of additive manufacturing of metals.

The project is based on research, education and deep collaboration with industries. The project provides a testing environment for companies. Companies from both around Turku and Lappeenranta have strong participance in project, companies are partly developing their own abilities and partly supporting of business in both locations in Finland. All research carried out in project is public and available for further utilization.

Verkota project (2021–2023) is funded by European Regional Development Fund. The project PI in University of Turku is Professor Antti Salminen and project is carried out in collaboration with Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), which is the leading partner in project. The project is collaborating with 8 companies from South-West Finland and South-East Finland.
