The International Advisory Board of the University of Turku

The International Advisory Board forms a strategic partner for university leadership. The aim of the board is to provide insight and international points of view into the development of research, education and societal interaction at the University of Turku.

The International Advisory Board meets two to three times a year either through online connection or in Turku or elsewhere in Europe.

The composition of the International Advisory Board

  • Professor Karen O'Brien, Vice Chancelloer & Warden, Durham University
  • Professor Ludovic Thilly, Vice-Rector for a European University, University of Poitiers

Coordinators for the International Advisory Board meetings are Irinja Paakkanen, Head of International Affairs, Soile Haverinen, Head of Unit, Research Services, Kirsi Korpela, International Liaison Officer and other experts when relevant.

The term of the University International Advisory Board appointed by the Rector is 1.9.2025-31.7.2029.
