Maritime@TSE Shipping customers event

Maritime@TSE event: What shipping customers value and anticipate next?

On 30th Aug 2023, Maritime@TSE research platform at Turku School of Economics organized an industry-academia event for different shipping and logistics stakeholders and for actors providing solutions for them. For the start of new academic year the event included insights from different shipping customers on how to manage different transitions and changes.

Event background

At the core of every successful business, including shipping, lies the fundamental question: What do customers truly want and are they aware of all the possibilities available to them? Customer relationships within supply chains are facing various turmoil and changes with increasing complexity. Businesses across industries search for new combinations for delivering value by offering holistic solutions rather than products only. Facing pressure for impactful actions, decarbonization is on every actor’s agenda, while digitalization initiatives strive for optimization, transparency and resilience.

Collaboration for implementation is what matters. How do actors develop processes based on data? How to find the right partners and lead different ecosystems for shared value? What are the focus areas, pain points and future visions in different types of industries? These types of questions are essentially linked to business studies over the many interfaces across sectors and industries.
