28.2.2024 at 14.15 - 16.00
Welcome to an afternoon seminar on capitalism and Antonio Serra. Antonio Serra was a rebellious lawyer living in Naples around the turn of the 17th century. His pioneering book Breve trattato provides an occasion for discussing the dawn of political economy in early modernity. But it also explains how economic and juridical arts of governing copulated at certain point in history and gave birth to capitalism as we know it today.
