Opening Carnival

The University of Turku and the Student Union organise the Opening Carnival together. The Carnival welcomes the students and staff to celebrate the new academic year.
The programme of the Opening Carnival starts with awarding the teacher, counsellor, educational and language deeds of the year. The Carnival continues with the Student Union’s programme. In addition to following the stage programme, the participants can explore the different stands of the over 100 subject-specific and hobby organisations of Student Union and the service of the University of Turku.
The event will take place on the square in front of the publicum and the Educarium. In case of rain, the Opening Carnival will be held at Educarium (address Assistentinkatu 5). The University community will be informed about this on the intranet pages and Facebook and Twitter accounts of the University of Turku at the latest on the morning of the event day.
