European Bioconductor community gathers in Turku – EuroBioC2026 brings open-source bioinformatics experts to Finland

16.01.2026

One of the world’s largest open-source research communities will convene in Turku in summer 2026, as the European Bioconductor Conference is held in Finland for the first time.

EuroBioC2026 will bring together researchers, software developers and data scientists in bioinformatics and computational biology from across Europe and beyond.

EuroBioC2026 will take place in Turku on the first week of June 2026. The event is organised in collaboration by the Finnish Society for Bioinformatics, BioCity Turku research programme CompLifeSci, and the international Bioconductor community.

The three-day conference along with the two workshop days will provide an up-to-date overview of Bioconductor software development and emerging technologies shaping computational biology and bioinformatics. The programme will include invited keynote talks, scientific presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities within the international research community.

Abstract submission for the conference is now open and will close on 30 January 2026.

Bioconductor is one of the largest bioinformatics software projects in the world. Its mission is to develop high-quality open-source software on multiple platforms for bioinformatics and computational biology. An active and inclusive community of developers and data scientists lies at the heart of Bioconductor’s success, fostering openness, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The EuroBioC2026 speaker lineup features internationally recognised experts from across the field of bioinformatics and data science.
