International scholars visit the Marketing department during Fall 2017

The marketing department will receive four visitors during Fall 2017.
 
Nicole Coviello is the inaugural Lazaridis research professor and professor of Marketing at the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics. She is also research director of the Lazaridis Institute for Management of Technology Enterprises. Nicole's research are marketing strategy, international business and entrepreneurship, typically in the context of technology firms. In 2014, Nicole was ranked as the number one non-US scholar in International Marketing and tied for second worldwide. Nicole will present her research in a joint research seminar between Marketing and International Business on October 5th (Title: No Business Experience Required: The Overlooked Role of Pre-Founding R&D Collaboration in Early Internationalization).
 
Stuart Roper is Associate Dean (Research) and Professor of Marketing at Huddersfield Business School, University of Huddersfield whom he joined in July 2017. He was previously Professor of Marketing at Bradford University, where he was also Associate Dean. Stuart is the Chair of the UK Academy of Marketing's special interest group in Brand, Identity and Corporate Reputation and as such helps to organise the annual Global Brand Conference. Stuart's research area is in brands and branding and some of his recent work looks at the importance of brand names. He is also involved in ongoing research into 'brand litter' and the impact of brands upon adolescent self-esteem. Stuart will present his research on October 10th in the marketing research seminar.
 
Takashi Taguchi is Associate Professor of Marketing at Ibaraki Christian University, Japan. His research interests include Consumer Experience, Services marketing, Service-dominant logic, and Marketing strategy. He has authored a number of book chapters on service related topics, and has together with colleagues published a book "The Idea and Application of Service-Dominant Logic", a Japanese translation of Service-Dominant Logic handbook by Lusch & Vargo.
 
Chiara Ancillai is a marketing doctoral candidate at the Department of Management, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy. In her doctoral thesis she investigates the social media phenomenon in B2B selling. She has previously conducted research on the use of social media in international marketing strategies and the role of Internet-based technologies in the innovation of Italian traditional industries. Chiara will present her research on December 12nd in the marketing research seminar.
