Turku University Library has acquired access to new AI tools integrated into reference databases. AI tools are available in Elsevier's Scopus and Clarivate's Web of Science reference databases. Scopus AI tool is simply called Scopus AI. A similar tool in Web of Science is called Research Assistant. The tools provide a new kind of opportunity for information retrieval.

With Scopus AI, you get quick and clear answers. You can write a question, claim, or hypothesis in natural language without search terms or Boolean operators. Scopus AI searches the relevant documents published since 2013 and makes an easily understandable summary with references of their abstracts. Expanded summary, Concept map and Topic experts buttons and Foundational papers menu are available to find deeper information.

Research Assistant provides multilingual natural language search opportunities, concise overviews of search results, and research-boosting visualizations. The aim of Research Assistant is to enhance research by responding to the needs of the conducted research as the needs change.

Students and staff of University of Turku have direct access to these databases with utu username and password via links below or via Volter. The tools can be found in the menus of the top bars of the databases.
