The Department of Physics and Astronomy is offering a grant for 2 months related to own scientific research in the field of X-ray polarimetry, starting no earlier than 1 August 2025

The applicant will be doing their own research in the high-energy astrophysics group in the field of X-ray polarimetry.  The applicant must have a master's degree and be well-versed in X-ray astronomy research methods. The criteria for choosing the grantees are the credibility and quality of the applicant’s research plan, and any other relevant academic achievements documented in their CV and list of publications. The grant recipient must not be employed by the University of Turku.

  • The amount of the grant is 2196 e/month. The grant will be awarded for 2 months, starting no earlier than 1 August 2025.
  • The application period is 10.6-24.6.2025 at 12:00.

The applications should contain a cover letter, a research plan, a CV and a list of publications.

The selection for the grant is made by Professor Juri Poutanen and the head of the department of physics and astronomy makes the decision on the grant.
