Biography
I'm currently working as a senior researcher (postdoctoral researcher) at the Department of Nursing Science, University of Turku. My research interests are remote monitoring of pregnancy, breastfeeding and Baby-friendly issues, as well as early physical contact between a mother and her newborn infant. I am part of department's research group called Connected Health UTU. I also work as a coordinator of the Baltic Sea Region Network in Personalized Health Care, which organizes yearly summer schools to doctoral candidates. My PhD was completed in 2016 after a 4-year-position in Finnish National Doctoral Programme in Nursing Science, supported by Academy of Finland and University of Turku. The topic of my PhD thesis was breastfeeding of preterm infants. Before doctoral studies, I have worked seven years as a midwife in the delivery ward in Turku university hospital. I graduated as a midwife in 2002 (Turku university of applied sciences) and Master of Nursing Science in 2010 (University of Turku).
