I am a consultant neurosurgeon at Turku University Hospital, Finland. I am an adjunct professor of neurosurgery at University of Turku, Finland and adjunct professor of neurotraumatology at University of Helsinki, Finland.
I am the head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Brain Trauma Care at Turku University Hospital. I am the co-director of Turku Brain Injury Centre. I work as the Physician-in-Charge for neurosurgical intensive care and traumatic brain injury management and as part of the neuro-oncological team at Turku University Hospital.
I am the leader of biochemical arm of Traumatic Brain Injury Group of University of Turku, and Turku University Hospital, and the leader of Neurosurgical Implant Group, University of Turku. During 2019-2022, I am working as a clinical researcher at Academy of Finland.

2016- Supervision of 2ndand 3rdyear med. students taking clinical investigator rotation course, every summer (Uni. Turku)
2015- Lectures on neuronavigation for undergraduate (neuroscience minor) and postgraduate students (Turku Brain and Mind Center, Uni. Turku)
2013- Lectures for 4thand 6thyear med. students on neurotraumatology, every spring term (Uni. Turku)
My main research interests are biomarkers in diagnostics of acute phase, treatment effects, and outcome of traumatic brain injury, biomaterials in cranial reconstruction and neuro-oncology.
