Biography
Laura Pouru-Mikkola works at the Finland Futures Research Center as a Development Manager and PhD Researcher. She is specialized in foresight and futures literacy on systemic, organizational, and personal levels. She has worked in various foresight and futures research projects at the FFRC and in Finnish public administration during the past ten years.
Her work experience includes e.g. project and process management, qualitative research and development, cross-sectoral stakeholder collaboration, popularizing science and science communication, teaching and developing educational contents and methodologies. Her most recent work has focused on the development of individual future literacy, the assessment of national foresight system and facilitating regional and organizational vision processes.
Pouru-Mikkola is preparing her PhD dissertation on the national foresight ecosystem in Finland and is acting as Co-Chair of the UNESCO Chair in Learning for Transformation and Planetary Futures granted to the University of Turku 2020-2024. She is also the President of the Finnish Society for Future Studies.
