Biography

I am a speech-language pathologist, university teacher and a Ph.D. student. I have graduated in 2016 and have been working in both the public and private sectors as a speech therapist. In my career, I have focused on speech therapy assessments and interventions for children and adolescents. I've developed specialized expertise in the area of sensory-motor feeding difficulties in children and rehabilitation for individuals on the neurodevelopmental spectrum. In 2022, I started to work as a university teacher in the Department of Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Turku where I have been teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.I began my doctoral studies in the spring of 2023, focusing on themes related to developmental disorders in children.

Teaching

In 2022, I started to work as a university teacher in the Department of Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Turku where I have been teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. The emphasis of my teaching has been on childrens' developmental disorders. Currently, I am pursuing studies in university pedagogy, aiming to further my growth as an educator and mentor. I have also been lecturing on feeding difficulties in children on the autism spectrum to early childhood educators in the City of Turku.

Research

I am conducting research on the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods in group interventions. Furthermore, I am investigating the competence of early childhood educators in this area. My clinical work has sparked my interest in research, highlighting the significance of early intervention and interdisciplinary collaboration.
