Biography
I work as an Academy Researcher and investigate plant energy and carbon metabolism. I lead a project that aims to harness acetate metabolism for plant production and developes novel plant production technologies. During my career I have worked as a researcher and project coordinator in the fields of plant biology and food sciences. I have studied plant metabolism and stress tolerance, the cultivation and utilization of Baltic Sea macroalgae, and the transition to sustainable food system.
In addition to my research work, I serve as coordinator for the multidiciplinary profiling areas (Profi 8) of the University of Turku. I work in diverse research management tasks and promote interdisciplinary collaboration and research communication.
