Areas of expertise
I finished my master's studies in international business at Turku School of Economics in 2006. Thereafter I started working at TSE and began the search for a topic for doctoral research. I started with offshore outsourcing of R&D activities and ended up with the capability for managing international partnerships. During my doctoral studies I worked in various positions at the school of economics as well as supported by a grant.
After defending my dissertation I started working at Centre for Collaborative Research at TSE. Currently I'm working with various collaborative research projects, where academic research meets business world need for research-based knowledge.
My research interests revolve around organisational responses to change. In my dissertation I examined highly international SMEs that deal with rapidly changing technologies and slowly changing markets. The capabilities of the organisations for managing their international partnerships were in the focus. As part of the study I conducted an extensive systematic review of empirical studies on dynamic capabilities.
After completing the dissertation, I've had the opportunity to analyse SMEs' business models and examine the entrepreneurs' capabilities. All in all, I'm very interested in the role of an individual in an organization. Currently I'm working on broadening the examination towards capability aspects in the change of work that stems from digitization.
