Veli Virmajoki, Docent, Ph.D., works in futures research. His work focuses on the futures of science, futures of universities, and the impact of scientific developments on society. Virmajoki received his Ph.D. in philosophy, where his work has focused on the philosophy of science and historiography. In philosophy, Virmajoki has explored causal and counterfactual thinking in science and historiography. He has published widely in the fields of philosophy and futures research, mixing the approaches of the two fields.
