Areas of expertise
I am a radiochemist and medicinal chemist working at Turku PET Centre, University of Turku, Finland. I received my PhD degree from the Institute of Biomedicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Turku, in 2008. Then I was at a Post-doctoral position funded by the Academy of Finland during 2010-2012. I received my Docentship in 2012 from University of Turku. Since 2013, I have been working at Turku PET Centre. Since 2021, I am a Group Leader in the InFLAMES Flagship.
At the moment, I have only minor roles in class teaching. For exmaple, I give 1-2 lectures in our annual course PET Basics (2 ECTS).
Basic research in radiochemistry including methodological development for radiosynthesis and radiolabeling techniques. We have been able to radiolabel many types of molecules including small organic compounds, peptides, antibody and antibody fragments, oligonucleotides, oligosaccharides etc.
Development of new radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging of inflammatory diseases and immunological diseases.
